Two hours playing at golf social, we did The Hay which I really like and did very poorly on today, but ya know the second hour was way better, starting to make friends with my A. (Pam call it her Canadian Club (A!).
Good pickleball lesson after.

I did 18 at Shadow Hills North today, I lost more golf balls than I could count, but had a great time.
Last night I played the worst pickleball I've ever played, even my friends said hey are you ok? Sometimes life just catches up to you and yep I have a lot on my mind, all good, so why am I so stressed out. Probably need to get myself back to Crossfit more consistently. Crossfit definitely has me leaving with an endorphin high. I saw my massage therapist today and he only worked on my back, he apologized and said you're working your upper body super hard, it's all showing up in your core. (That wasn't a positive comment like whoa look at that core)! He's right, I told him what's going on in the next few weeks and got some good advice and he got me in sooner, when I said I might not be ready, he promised to meet me where I am. I got my chest X-ray done this morning which was the last thing I needed for my medical clearance. I guess I'm ready.
Driving to CrossFit this morning for the 6:00am class and realized I had forgotten my water bottle. I had a little brain/body argument with myself. You have time to stop and buy a water bottle, I don't want to stop, I don't even want to do dubs and burpees. You could go home and get some back squats and lunges done, you do have pickleball tonight, you don't need to do anything. So "you don't need to do anything" won the argument, I may head out to the garage for some leg work, I may not.
Benched 65lbs today, not a pr but haven't been there in awhile, hope to just be passing through on the way up.
We got home Tuesday, Wednesday was an arm/upper body workout at home, Thursday Crossfit was 7-7-7-7-7 backsquats, my last set was at 80lbs, 7 is a big number for a set, 80lbs is a little number, but it was my number. This morning was a hard row, clean, rope climb pyramid workout. Time 18:45. I did not scale the row.
We played pickleball last night, we had 5 of us and a set of 3 snagged whoever was out to make their foursome so there was no rest but lots of fun. Now I feel like sleeping, still waking up on east coast time.
"Wow" was the word of the day today at pickleball, both complimentary and as a little jab. Fun morning with lots of wins, "wow" I've played two good days in a row.
Usually I'm pretty hard on myself as far as how well I play pickleball but today was a very good day!
My new golf club (the right one this time) came today so I'm going to the simulator to try it out this afternoon.
Deadlifts 5 sets of 3 unbroken. My heaviest was a set of 2@153. Pickleball class after. Our Pink Par Tee Golf event last night was super fun and I golfed well, must have been the pink polo shirt!
Spent the day on the lake with the grandkids--no Crossfit--why I Crossfit? I always think about Crossfit in terms of how heavy (not heavy) I'm lifting, today when I was out on the tube with the grandkids, I realized how I take my grip strength for granted. We never really measure it, it's just a byproduct of all the bar work we do, something I never really think about until....just being able to hang on with the kids.
3-3-3-3-3
Why are my cleans not getting better? Let me answer that for myself, I'm pulling too soon, not getting under the bar, not keeping the bar path close, not jumping hard and high enough, and slow turnover of my elbows. Is there another component I'm doing wrong, if it exists it should be on my list. The ironic thing is it is a lift I really like.
On a better note golf last night was really fun.
15:02, it was ok, dumb practice (that was a typo for dub practice, but it kinda fits), RMU practice and a whole lot of sit ups.
Pickleball last night, who does an outdoor lesson when it's 115? Still good lesson. Golf tonight.
Ring rows and pushups were a scale for ring muscle ups, I like the fact that my pushups are getting stronger and I can do more. Back squats we had to be able to do unbroken, I chose 65lbs, probably should have pushed a little heavier.
Went to Fritz after, lost 1, won 1, called it good.
