Back At It Again....

 That was the title of todays workout.  75 power snatches, the hardest movement, besides squat snatches for me--75! with 30 double unders on the minute, so you scale double unders to 1 1/2, putting me at 45, that lasted a few rounds then had to scale that back to 30 so there was time to get enough snatches in.  After WOD we worked to heaviest, I got 40, tried 45 but that was a nope.  We've been doing a lot of snatches.

Yesterday was butt hurtin' Thursday, so I didn't go to class, but check this out, we were on our way back up the mountain and saw about 5 or 6 Bighorn sheep all standing in a cluster.  By the time I got my phone open this was about the best picture I could get.  Traffic was stopped all around to admire them.

Todays workout was 3 rounds of 9 power snatches, 15 bar facing burpees and 21 toes to bars.  It was ok, I can't do toes to bar so the modification is candlesticks, butt said nope to that too so my modification was bar hanging knee raises.  Do they call it that?  I don't know....but it's a good description.

Cardio and Abs


 I didn't log this right, I was supposed to do total bike calories each round, I did total which was 21.6 and that was only three rounds because one round I only made it to the bike for like 15 seconds.  It was a wicked cardio workout, followed with a chaser of an ab workout.  Depending on tomorrows workout I may ski, I haven't gotten as much use out of my pass as I planned.  Todays project: Imperial powder room.

Lots of lifting today...

 45 on my barbell complex, 7:44 to do three rounds of 10 squat cleans and 10 push presses, I started at 35, decreased to 25 it was hard.  Now a trip to Lowe's and Home Depot for more fun.

 That's my dumbbell snatch score during the WOD.  I'm pretty happy with my deadlift today, it was 85, my previous PR was 94, so it's getting there.

I didn't quite make it through, 9 more burpees left. I kept the weight for all the lifting at 25lbs, I know sounds wimpy.....but a really good workout.

Front squats

 Worked a lot on technique, darn doing it right is tough.  Part 2 of the WOD was 3 dumbbell presses, 3 strict pull ups, and three box jump overs, increasing three each round.  I got five rounds + 3 and was so glad to see the clock run out.  As always the best part is feeling great....afterwards.

Cherry picking

 Crossfit today was an endless amount of time on the Assault bike and an equally endless amount of double unders, and if you can't do double unders you just do double the amount of singles.  So.... how'd I do?  Fantastic, I did the relatively smart thing and skipped it, so my activity today will have to suffice with my leisurely walk and a little after dinner Yoga with Adrienne.

Happy New Year

 A week of Cross Fit and skiing Christmas Day.  The lift broke down and it killed at least an hour or so of time, I was pretty glad, less time for Kerri and the boys to get me in over my head!  I'm looking forward to things being a little quieter here so I can get some weekday morning runs in.  New Years or retirement goals, resolutions???  Naw, just move every damn day, so I can keep on moving! Oh and patronize Pickle's Pie Shop way more often--
